Syllabus
To obtain the basic award in Digital Cre8or candidates will have to complete one
‘Creating’ unit and one ‘Sharing’ unit plus any two others. For the full GCSE Certificate, candidates would be expected to complete all eight units. The syllabus for this exciting new award enables the study of the different aspects of digital media broken down into the following units:
Creating
A. Understand, Capture and Manipulate Digital Audio
B. Understand, Capture and Manipulate Digital Still Images
C. Understanding Moving Image Language
D. Understand, Capture and Manipulate Digital Video
E. Digital Storytelling with Animation
Sharing
F. Sharing Digital Media on Optical Media such as DVDs
G. Sharing Digital Media on the Web
H. Sharing Digital Media with Multimedia Presentations
Each of the units is broken down into skill sets and tasks that can be measured
against assessment criteria and equates to about 12 hours of learning.
